Revox B226 won't read CD's

Hello!
Might have an opportunity to buy a B226 with the CDM2 transport.
Porblem is that the CDP doesn't read CD's anymore. Is this a cammon fault with these players or a catastrophy?
Would it be worthwhile to shell out $130 and try to repair it? AFAIK it seems to be a very good CDP, even for its age...

A personal answer: the first 2 points can be solved by careful looking/checking and cleaning. When it's dead it needs to be replaced. Hard to find those CDM 2's. There is a replacement in the form of a CDM 4/XX but there are other changes needed as well when placing that one.

When you haven't done this before this is a repair that is not easy. Better do the cleaning/checking yourself and leave the repair to an experienced technician.

I actually browsed the subject, but because a bit confused ovver the many names of mechanisms.
It seems that the CDM4 is a replacement, but I'm concerned with the level of craftmanship involved in swapping. How difficult could it be?
