Hello :-)
I'm new to these forums. I'm also new to many things that have to do with audio and high fidelity and stuff. I'm not a fanatic. I do, however, have a question for fanatics. I have a Philips CD100, the first commercially available CD player. But actually, my player never was commercially available. It has a sticker at the bottem: -FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPUSES ONLY. -DEVIATIONS FROM FINAL SPECIFICATION MAY OCCUR. It looks just fine, no scratches or so. It works fine too. However, when I use the fast forward function, there's no music at al, unlike with modern players, where you skip through little bits. Is that because there's something broken? Do all CD100's have that? Or is it a "deviation from the final specification"? I'm thinking of making mine commercially available. What would be a good price to sell it for? Does it being a demonstration model increase it's value to collectors? Thanks! |

Hi Daan,
Certainly a collectors item. A part of history. The value? Depending how desperately someone wants to have a part of history. May be you can sell it back to Philips for their "museum" Ward
