Shigaclone MKII Black - The builders Thread

hi Tibi,

Is the quantum transport a shigaclone in an enclosure or is it a totally different design? please elaborate if you can. im greatly interested.

Quantum is a CD transport with anti-resonant enclosure - over 10Kg - aluminium and wood. Inside is a Shiga MKII high-grade Level2 or Level3.
First 20 units will be custom made - unicates - with special engraving.

We just finished second prototype enclosure and we are ready for the third and last one.
In Jan 2016 first unit will be ready and I'll post many pictures and some measurements.

Regards,
Tibi

Looking for a brushless motor

I was looking for a motor brushless motor replacement on SFP-101N.

As CEC TL-XX units make use of exactly same Sanyo mechanism, but modified for belt transmission, I was curios to see which motors are they using. I end up to this page CEC TL-1X
It is highly disappointing to see that they just encapsulated same Mabuchi motors ...

I have attached Mabuchi RF-310TA datasheet. Can someone indicate me a brushless motor with similar specs ?

Tibi

Merry Christmas to all audio passionates !

Robert, any led you like it may be used. Personally I would use several led's series or parallel connected and power them in ac directly at trafo secondary. This way I'll not add extra load to power supply regulator.
Depending on led colour and type you have to calculate ballast resistors.

S/PDIF is driven directly from DSP chip LC78601.
Reference clock feeds DSP LC78601 and divided by 4 feeds ASP chip LA9242 as well. There is option to slave/master from/to an external DAC.

Well, IMHO the jitter induced by the LSI should be isolated. This could be done in a simple way: Just use a FF / Latch clocked by the master clock.. and only if the output spdif edges are stable :D ...

as I have seen the masterclock is 16.934 Mhz a 1.5 * 256 multiple of 44.1khz

Cheers

Some files you may need to make your own remote enclosure.
Extract zip file and open source files with FreeCad.
You can 3d print or cnc the enclosure.

Thanks Tibi,

I think there are people who also need a metal case for the remote control for Shiga. As I am living in Hong Kong and easily find factory for the metal CNC up to BS standard.
I think it is around 20 US dollars per one not including import tax and shipment.
If there are 20 people needs, then I can organize a group buy for it

Thanks
