Default suggested books for beginer?

Hi,

I am a new DIY beginner and would like to read up on DAC design. Any good recommendation? I have come across many books but they are way too difficult with too many equations for me.

Mdlovers suggestion is right on target.
For newbies obligatory is:
Paul Horowitz and Winfield Hill, The Art of Electronics, Cambridge University Press.
I could also add:
