Wolfson High Performance 117dB DAC
Surfing around I stumbled on the Wolfson WM8740 DAC chip.

I'm certainly a DIY rookie, but this looks to me as a pretty impressive chip  Has anybody had any experience with it or with its evaluation board?

I'd be interested in understanding how it compares to the best known chips like Burr Brown, Crystal, etc. from a sonic standpoint. It looks to me as a good starting point for implementing a high-end DAC!

not so impressive
signal to noise or dynamic range is not too useful unless you have some really poor, earlier generation sigma delta dac

THD+noise is what you should be looking for, preferably without A-weighting. The AD1853 and PCM1738 will do slightly better...
