I have that DAC in my Teac player. I have tried to find a data sheet on this DAC but they are hidden behind obscure broker sites...
I need to know what kind of output stage it has. It does not appear to be the usual current output you normally see. There is no I/V, instead there is a unity gain follower with a 100 ohm resistor going from the DAC output to the + of the follower. I did an experiment and fed the DAC outputs though the 100 ohm directly to my preamp which has a cathode follower input (impedance 100:s of Mohms). It appears to work but... could perhaps be done better. (I later added 100k to ground for safety, there is 100V on the other side of the preamp input) Anyone? |
