Problem with Krell KAV 250 CD MkII

Hello,

I am looking for a shematic for the player above, requests for Krell run naturally into vacancy.
The following problem:
The charge is now running again and pulls the CD also.
Laser also drives up 3x and then up and down and
tried to focus. However, the spindle motor is not rotating, the motor I measured with external power and it works. The IC 102 is probably responsible for the spindle motor.
Without switching the whole plan is pretty unproductive,
no voltage specifications, test points.
A cow stood in the mist, because they no longer found.

I hope you can help me.
Best regards
Peter

The spindle motor won't rotate until focus is found. Primary suspect would probably be the laser pickup.

What is the significance of a "cow standing in the mist" ? I'm sure you understand my curiosity :D

Hi Mooly,
Disorientation, no approach to problem solving.

Hi Mooly,

It is true that the laser is focused first and he then signal for the spindle motor outputs on the processor, which turns only? When the laser is defective, that is, the signal flow is interrupted?

best regards
Peter

The sequence of events is,

1) Laser on
2) Focus search initiated (lens going up/down)
3) Processor waits for FOK "focus OK" signal at which point the spindle motor is kicked to approx. correct speed.
4) The disc servo takes over and locks the speed of the disc by comparing the data rate off the disc to a known reference... the master oscillator in the player.

So yes, laser defective and the flow is interrupted.
