AES3 volume control
Can somebody help me with the following problem:
How can I change the volume of a digital AES3 audio stream? I hope there is an 'one solution' IC that I can control with help from a microcontroller (e.g. with i2C). This way, I can adjust the volume of the AES3 audio stream at a distance!
I know it is possible with a DSP, but the design has to be simple and cost-effective...I don't want to do conversion to the analoge domain, because the signal flow has to be pure digital (broadcast application).
I found a sample rate converter (Texas Instruments) that can do digital volume control, but that will cost me an extra AES3 receiver and transmitter chip.
There must be something......right?...
