What's the best portable (runs on batteries) DAC to build to feed a headphone amp (META42)?

since no one else has replied this is my attempt at helping you out.

not entirely certain what you are looking for...but here is a link that has a few portable DACs on it.

I imagine that just about any DAC will do though...as far as portability goes. Just keep your eye on power requirement specs...
