Default How would I go about finding a power supply for my dac?

Hi new member here I like the idea of modding my muse mini tda1543 dac especially after buying a much more espensive dac that did not perform aswell.
I figure since I have virturally no exp with working on electronics. I should start by simply replacing the "wall wart" with a better power supply. The wall wart is 12 volts 1 amp.
Btw I am in the USA,I am using a tube integrated and sumwhat "laid back" speakers.

Linear, Battery or Switch Mode?
Whatever you choose there will be some onboard regulation I would imagine, if the output of the wall wart is clean, then keep that, though depending on level of manufacturing quality the only way you can guarantee that is through measurement, though in the USA the FCC are more pro-active than the CE in europe.
Have fun, and have a look around at some of the discussions on power supplies, they can be fun.

My wall wart I imagine is switching. How would I check to see if the power is clean? I did find this:Pyramid PS3KX 3-Amp 12-Volt it has great reviews however...Is it ok to go from 1amp to 3amps? This power supply has a fan and that may prove counter productive.
