Default ADC, any use for audio?

I have many ADC chips and circuits (such as DAT recorders). I have saved those for future project, which I don't know what.

Thinking about recording live music through microphone, the chance is I think low.

Digital crossover, I think its too complicated. Not possible.

Any other possibilities related to music playback that you know before I scrap everything?
