Hope there can be some help to get in here; I have a Pink Triangle Numeral cd player with a burn resistor R-23 on board DAC 205 rev 2V1 tanks for all the help I can get.

It looks to be feeding the 5 volt regulator. If it does go to pin 1 on the reg then it will be a low value resistor, probably around 1 to 10 ohms. I would consider replacing the regulator (they do fail) and fitting a new resistor of say 4.7 ohms 1 watt and see what happens when you power up.
