In my Marantz CD-16, there is a chip; PCF2705
(I2S reciever / SP-DIF transmitter?) Where can I find a datasheet for this? Arne K

Hi Arne, I can send you a xeroxcopy of the page of servicemanual of the CD931. The part is used to generate SPDIF output signal from I2S. I omit it, together with the CS8412, in my I2S Direct scheme.

Thanx, I already have servicemanual for the CD-16, I was just thinking of future improvement for the digital out...
Maybe make a I2S out, but more important(!), I need a good SP-DIF (BNC) output, for external DAC testing/tweaking (not nessecarily my own DAC). Maybe a CS8402 direct from the SAA7310? Arne K

The PCF2705 is not bad if coupled with my interface for digital out: 74VHC04->OPA603. (no transformer) I can compare it with I2S Direct with the flip of a switch.

Did you have a link to your interface for digital out: 74VHC04->OPA603 ?
