It's only a matter of a little time before the thing is really broken.

Thanks for the examples, if you know more, please tell.
I'll search around when time permits and get back here.
This is supposed to be a DIY forum. Have you got a screwdriver? Take the top cover off, blow any fluff off the lens, and use a damp (not wet) cotton bud to gently wipe it clean.

Stop slapping. It's likely that a sliding mechanism is sticking or a belt is slipping.

If you tell us what machine it is, we'll help you fix it, probably.

OMG!
Sorry, apparently I missed the reminder in my E-mail.
Thanks adason and PlasticIsGood.

Not much time at the moment, helping a friend out.
And living alone demands a lot of time for daily work around and in the house...
I hope to get to this in two weeks.

Thanks!

Aha, I'm from Poperinge.

Can you give me some specifics about your CD-player, please?

Thanks.
I'll let her know about them but I have a few questions.
The Genexxa doesn't seem very good or is it?
The NAD has no headphone out, right?

I'm looking at some other options too, like repairing my old Sony but that takes time....

and an old mini-chain from my niece... see how that's still working or not.

Thanks.
