Default Sony Laser intensity problem

Guys can anyone advise me how to increase the intensity of the laser on my Sony DVP S 7000 unit Please.

Laser will only read Original CD s not CD R s IT used to read anything before.

Try to adjust the focus gain first by watching the eye pattern with an oscilloscope.

okay which pot adjusts the focus as I do not want to screw it up

Make sure the lens is clean first. Look closely from an oblique angle so you can see the top surface. I use a damp cotton bud gently if it's grimy, but otherwise just blow the dust off. Don't use alcohol or anything else.

The player should adjust its own mech if you ask it. You can adjust manually too, if you have the necessary equipment.

Laser intensity problems are terminal, basically, so let's hope that's not the issue.

I think its not aligned as I did a quick test and light lift of the bed ... disc plays fine .

That is telling me that there is a problem with levelling .

I think there is a service menu and possibility of alignment .

Has anyone done this ?
