Default Denon/NPC SM5845AF, anyone know if 24/96 capable?

I've looked as thoroughly as I can around the web, and can't find the answer to this one. Has anyone around here ever found specs on this custom Denon NPC digital filter chip, SM5845AF, used in the DCD3000, S10 & etc? Need to know if I would be able to get anything above 48kHz/16bit if I upgrade the spdif receiver chip(3000/S10 have dac mode). All the info I have been able to find is just the pinout & internal block diagram as given in the service manuals for the players.
