I would give it a qualified "maybe". The PCM1732 is a v-out dac, with hdcd digital filter built in, so it's very limited as to what can be modified. Have not ever heard this chip, myself, so don't know how good it can be. There is a very easy & easily reversible mod you can try to see how much potential it does or doesn't have- Since it's got i/v & lpf opamps built in, you can take the outputs directly from the the dac chip to the output jacks, with just the output dc blocking caps in the signal path. All you need to do is connect either the existing or an added set of rca jacks to the capacitors that come from pin 13 for R ch, and pin 16 for L ch. Disconnect one side of each cap, so that each is only connected to chip pin & line to output jacks. This will bypass the unneeded two opamp stages & tell you if the dac will sound worthy of then upgrading the power supply to it, and the caps for the output pins.
