I have a CDM4 that makes an abnormally loud click at the end of play.
When released to return to its rest position, the radial arm smacks against its end stop. A light click seems normal, but this one's a bit alarming. I can't see exactly where the mechanical stop is, so it's hard to assess how damaging the click might be. Anyone know how the arm is damped? I wonder if it relies on back-EMF, and its drive is higher impedance than it should be on its return journey? |
