PC CD-ROM with IR Remote?

Has there ever been a PC CD ROM drive that has an IR remote built-in to it? I think this could be very valuable for DIYing.

Yes there is...the creative CD-Rom drive has got a little IR remote..that uses a button lithium battery...

Yup, there has been several of which the Creative is probably the most known. The new one is here for instance:

I hear there will be a IR remote for a certain brand of PCs...that directly links to the PC...but only if the manufactuere of the PC wants it...

That looks pretty cool, Does anyone know how easy it is to get a SPDIF signal out of it for a DIY CDP with a remote?

Another thread mentions MSI Mega-PC. Has MP3 player, radio and remote control and certain functions can be used without actually having the PC switched on.
