Low distortion, pure resistive I/V stage for Sabre Reference DAC - Page 2

It is very similar to the JLH buffer but used as a transimpedance stage. The JLH is parallel symmetric tough. I made several improvements to it and it sounds very good. As low impedance MC input i prefer BJT though, especially since your circuit has no problem with input offset.

Here is the JLH buffer. It goes back to his Lineac circuit where i first saw the possibility to make a low distortion J-Fet - BJt combination.

I have recently discover that you are a genius in building loudspeakers. And I have some question to ask you, but that have to be in other place and another time.

I have two loudspeaker threads here too. MPL and ZDL. Maybe it fits there. Yes, i only designed speakers for a long time and many did not know that i can design electronics too, so for most the experience was the other way around.

No, it isn't. It was just for simulation. The only load seen by the I/V stage is the 22k volume attenuator located into the power amplifier.

Guys, as far as I listened, this is the best sounding I/V stage I have tested. And i had listened many.
It is very simple to construct, just be sure that jfets are sorted to the same Idss in every similar symmetrically position

Wich Idss for 170s & for 117s? Sorry my ignorance inputs are V2 & V3, right? Is powered only with +15VDC?

I also think that a simple but good circuit has the potential to sound very good. Is now post 18 the favorite ?
