Hi,

I'm interested in setting up an android tablet/phone as a high speed multiple (4) channel data recorder and high speed (dsp) analysis. Nominally that would involve these steps

1) AK5384 (4 channel adc) --> I2S
2) I2S --> [ usb converter] --> usb
3) usb --> droid

Searching through this site has lead us to the droid->usb-I2S->dac mirror image of the above.

Any links to eval boards or chips that perform step 2
and drivers, reference designs and/or development kits that get us there
would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
MR

The best value option I can see for the job is this - USBStreamer | miniDSP

The challenge is that it will rely on the hardware being configured for negotiating a low power usb channel and supplying external 5V to the card. Not all usb audio devices have this implemented, might be worth sending the question to minidsp guys and asking if this card will work on a low powered usb port from mobile devices.

This new usb device from minidsp is based on the new multichannel xmos chipset and cheaper than the xmos eval board too!
