Default Marantz Cd67SE - replacement/laser transport

Hi all - i'm new to this forum but not new to electronics. However.....my CD67SE has finally and quite suddenly started skipping/jumping/spluttering whilst playing - some of my Cd's are worse than others but essentially its unusable. Ive trawled a few threads on here, followed advice and stripped the tray loader/laser carriage mechanism - very little grease in there to start with and lens spotless, put it all togther again. It will play fine, but then kicks off again. There's nothing left to clean!

I'm loathe to scrap it as the sound quality is top drawer.

The mechanism is identified as CDM12.1/15. The /15 seems to be confusing as posts just refer to CDM12.1 I'm guessing i need a new laser. Question is what do I ask for? Lots of mentions of VAM 1201/1202 which i've no idea about but there seem to be compatibility issues! I have found a vendor who will sell the complete 12./15 loader/laser mechanism but that seems overkill, and expensive.

Any help gratefully received :<)
Rich

The auction site is offering several CDM12.1 (VAM1201/1202) for around 10~15 euro. Not too expensive to give it a try. Or ask seller the exact references printed on the transport.

All the lasers on 63 67 and quite a few others are identical.

eBay has several listed by machine. The versions you mention are all identical. You can ignore the .15
