Default To modify a SB classic/V3...

Hi all,
Now that I have a good dac hooked up to my SB classic/V3 I want to make it as good a source as possible without it costing an arm and a leg.

I don't use the analogue outputs, so I'll leave them as is for now.

One of the things I'd like to to is to swap the coax digital output connector to a BNC connector.

I also want to build a linear PS for it. Does it need to be regulated? If so I'd need a regulator schematic to build a voltage reg that can handle about 3A.

If anyone has a complete schematic of the Squeeze box V3/Classic? If so please PM me and I'll give you an e-mail adress to send it to.

I'm guessing the first steps are to swap vregs inside the SB to better ones and do the same with some caps?

Please feel free to comment, link to good info, critize and make suggestions.

Thanks!

Default Logitech SB3

Hi, here goes a link for regulated 5V:

The Welborne lab has a simlilar design too:
Welborne Labs PSREGHC Kit
The one of the most important 3,3 V reg is labelled U18. It is easy to replace, or either provide a clean 3,3V from a linear supply too (lift up the 5 V leg of U18).
Cheers, JŠnos

Looked at the links now, thanks!
The top schematic is very interesting, the hammond choke and a decent power transformer would make it rather costly I think?
