i got the pga2311 chip and i neeed a control circuit for it, any suggestions ?

my best suggestion is you do a search on this topic, as there are a couple of threads in this board diskussing this. Search for PGA2310 also.

these chips are very easy to control with a BASIC STAMP (I have programmed the National Semi and Analog Devices digipots with the STAMP and a 16F84) , -- if you don't want to use a microcontroller you are going to have to do the logic "software in solder" with an ADC and some shift registers to address the resistor networks in the device. (i.e. you use a voltage reference and potentiometer to drive the ADC input for the 8 bits of volume control data.)

this is a very low noise digital potentiometer, thd<0.001%.

I have both PGA2310 and WM8816. 1 to 2 pcs for 2310 and 30-40 pcs for 8816. But, I didn't try them yet.
From the data sheet, 8816 is better during low out-put level.
The out-put of 8816 is invert. I think it'll effect the phase and sound-feeling. If it can combine with a DAC with invert Out-Put then they'll become a perfect combination.
