I have an Azur Dacmagic bought a couple of years ago. All along it has an occasional intermittent problem - skips a beat literally. Problem occurs when using SPDIF coaxial cable only & no problem with toslink input. Most of the time it does not happen. Last night it did that several times a minute and then everything back to normal this morning. This problem could be brought on by turning a light switch on or off. Also by the built-in stove lighter at 5 metres away. But again doesn't happen all the time - quite tempramental.
Contacted Cambridge last year and was given the useless advice: Use toslink instead of coaxial. Quite disappointed with them. Apparently they are aware of the problem which possibly happens with only some units. 1. What is the cause? The stove lighter incident suggests it's more than just the power. 2. Fix? |
