I came by a Sony DVD player DVP-S7000. I was using it for my study system as a CD player. I was actually quite impressed with the sound, playing through a Harman Kardon receiver and into a pair of Apogee Centaurs. I took it apart and the build quality is quite good, with Silmic caps and good quality decoupling caps. The board layout is also very good. I was wondering if anyone knows about the DAC used in it? I think this is it -- CXA8055M. I did change out the op-amps to LM4562s and the sound really improved too.
