Default KSS-210A optical pick-up doesn't stop at initial position

I have NAD 512 with KSS-210A optical pick-up. After power on the the motor try to move optical pick-up in the direction of disc center. The motor doesn't stop at initial position. The optical pick-up presses the sensor.
What to do?

hi, I'm confused here with your 'initial' position. Did the optic move to the disc center after power up?
if yes, does the lens moving up and down at that center position?

Normally, when the disc is not played, the pick-up remains near to the center of disc. The pick-up is in the same position when the disc is not loaded. I named it 'initial' position.

I can move the pick-up manually. After power up the pick-up moves to the disc center, but the motor doesn't stop.

I must to power off the player immediately in order to protect the motor and gears.

I see, thanks for explanation,
It can be the leaf switch somewhere below the spindle has given up, you can try the following :
just sand lightly in the contact point, test them for connectivity
check solder joints, all wire connectors from transport to mainboard

to test, power off the player, move the optic out of center manually, turn on the player
optic will move to center, and it will hit the switch, see if lens moving up and down,

hope this helps
