hello all,

I have the possibility to connect the following:

Amplifier: Yamaha DSP-A1 which uses AK4324 for DAC and UPC4570G2 as an OP-AMP

CD1: Marantz CD67SE using SM5872 as a DAC and NJM2114 as OP-AMP
CD2: Marantz CD4000 using TDA1545 as a DAC and NJM 4560D as an OpAmp.
CD3: Philips CD692 using a SAA7341 as a DAC and LM388 as a final amp.

I can connect both analog or digital (SP/DIF).

Which CD is better and what way is it better to connect (analog or digital)?

If I connect digital then the DAC of the Yamaha is used (AK4324). If I connect analog, then the DAC of the CD player is leading.

OK, I repaired the CD4000 (used an old laser from a Philips which was found at the local garbage dump).

I ordered through e-bay the DAC kit.

I will install it in the CD4000 (lot's of room to spare), and compare the difference with original DAC and the new one, and also the DAC used in my Yamaha DSP-A1 (AK4324).

I will post the results.
