Default Looking for an 8-channel USB to 4x I2S solution

Hi there,

I'm looking for a solution to get 8 audio output channels out of the USB. The following features are required:

  • 8 channels
  • 48khz/16bit or 24bit
  • USB Audio Class 2
  • Linux compatible (should be no problem with UAC2)
  • 4x I2S or any other serial interface for FPGA input
I found many solutions in this board even with up to 24 channels but none with all requirements fulfilled.

Please let me know if there is any open source project or even a cheap commercial solution.

It seems there is no such project.

I found the Cypress FX2 which has an external 16bit interface I could connect to an FPGA. Does the chip can handle 8 channels via UAC2 ?

I'm still looking for an easy way to go. Would it be possible to connect 4 USB<>I2S converters (like PCM2706) to an USB hub (like USB2504) which then would be connected to the host pc?

I think the PCM2706 have to share the same oscillator so all I2S outputs have the same clock.

Are there any experiences in this?
