Default Mastered for iTunes... the future of HiFi?

Caught this on 9 to 5 Mac earlier Apple’s hi-fidelity ‘Mastered for iTunes’ section gets new albums from Universal Music Group | 9to5Mac | Apple Intelligence, not sure if anyone else has heard of it. Apparently iTunes is to begin releasing 24bit/96kHZ files and not just the CD masters.
