I have performed the usual mods to both Philips cdb630 and an Arcam Alpha 5 cd player, both using the same and usual philips chip set. Both were NOS modded, but the Philips/Magnavox does something that the Arcam doesn't. When I removed the SAA7220A from each, the operation of each diverged. Each was modded the same way, but the Philips when put into pause doesn't mute and appears to continue to play the single disk rotating track it was paused on. That is to say, like a LP skipping over and over. Additionally, when the skip track function is used, a few moments of the skipped to track plays, then it starts over and plays the track normaly. It will play the disk without doing this if you just let it play thru as normal, track 1 thru track xx. The Arcam operates as if normal. I have looked at the circuits for each and found that the chips, although the same, are connected up differently(?). Not being a digital logic type I could use some help in sorting this out as the player is quite nice except for the quirky mute problem. Any help out there? Could it just need a logic pull up on a pin?

The philips filter chip is a SAA7220 version B in both players. Sorry for the error.
