Hello,
I need some clarification about Audio data formats. Is I2S the same of PCM? I'm planning a project with digital audio using an STA310 processor witch outputs the audio in PCM. Can I feed this PCM output to the TI TAS5518 processor witch has I2S inputs? Many Thanks. |

I doubt that you can achieve anything without knowing the basics.
PCM is a software FORMAT to represent an analogic signal. I2S is a hardware link that is used to TRANSPORT the digital signals. Analogy: you are asking if the music notes are the same thing as the paper that holds them. |
