My current setup is - winamp&kernel streaming -> creative X-fi music digital out -> the popular slightly modded DAC 2496 (AK4393 -> hybrid tube amp (will be replaced soon) -> Fostex Fe103En horns
I downloaded this player cMP² | CPlay / Download and I must say there's audible difference, I like it much - more detail and dynamics, although slight, it's noticeable. What I hate about it is that it can't play some of my .cue files and .ape. While winamp plays everything, this one doesn't. I'm wondering if I should change the crystal of my X-fi. Could it make bigger difference? But also what about "best playback software". What could I do in order to be sure I got most of my OS? Of course I would like to use my PC for normal use too, not to transform it in a dedicated multimedia center. |
