Default Muting a TD1541 with no SAA7220

Hi all,

I'm modding a Philips cd160 and somewhere along the line I fried the SAA7220 so I have since removed it completely and gone NOS.

The problem is I now have no mute function at all. The player sounds great but the second or two of garbage before playing a track and the 'jump' when paused is becoming a bit of an annoyance!

I may have missed something obvious but does anyone know how to implement a mute function without the SAA7220?

Cheers, Josh.

I described it here:

Marantz CD-50 and CD-60, TDA1541, CDM4/19

Brilliant thank you very much! I must have missed that and thought the saa7220 was 'involved' in the muting somehow! Can't wait to get that working again.....

How did I miss that.........I'd posted on that thread underneath, I think the soldering fumes must be getting to me.
