Default Quick question on toslink switch

Hi chaps, I have a DAC board with a single spdif input and want to add another that is switch-able with a remote.
Can I just mount another receiver and switch the outputs with a relay?
... or will this add too much noise?
Cheers

OK so I just got one, piggy backed it on the other one and switched the outputs with a small relay... works great :-)
I suppose you just need to 'do it' sometimes....

Toslink is the fibre optic connection, so the thread title is a bit misleading.

Simple switching with a relay should be fine as long as it doesn't add too much stray capacitance or inductance.

Wondered why nobody had chipped in...
I actually mounted it 'inverted' under the PCB and used a very small 5V relay, so very minimal change to the circuit.
Cheers for the response
