Jims audio store on ebay eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices It's not really low priced at all but seems quite decent to me...

Its description is very vague on what it's actually doing. It almost reads as though it's a frame buffer, similar to Ian's one, but it doesn't have anywhere near the complexity to do that. It looks like it might be one of those nasty devices where it repeats or drops frames to bridge between to clock domains, like what used to be popular with the CS8412.
If you want to try out this kind of thing, join in a groupbuy for one of Ian's infinitely superior boards.

Ian's boards look interesting.
I thinking about building a cd player for the office at work, using a computer CD-Rom for the transport and a Upsampling 24bit/192 CS4398+DIR9001 DAC w/ transformer outputs to a tube buffer to a Magnavox 8601 SE EL84 tube amp. |

Cool setup for a "work environment". What kind of work do you do? Are you in the audio business, or just "office work"?
