Hello guys !
I am thinking of making a wireless module for my DIY amp. I wand to take SPDIF from CD player or from other source and convert it to Mp3 or similar compressed format to use less bandwidth, then i will send it with NRF24L01 to my amp and there i will decode the data using STA013 or other VLSI solution back to I2S. Now here is the problem , i have experience with STA013 and DACs and other stuff like this but i did not find any IC that can convert I2S from SPDIF decoder such as DIR9001 or similar to a compressed format. I thought you guys may have some ideas , thanks in advice. |

Usually this is done by CPUs with encoding software.

Hi , thanks for the replay.
It may by but it is too complicated and expensive, I found something that may be useful , a wireless PCM transmission IC called NRF24Z1. It can transmit 16Bit stereo 48Khz of uncompressed audio data. That's great solution, no need to use any decoders/encoders. Thou is a new IC and still expensive,i saw it on Ebay for 14$ without board. Looks like this is my choice , anyway thanks for help
