I am looking to build an all-active + all-digital 5.1 system. For the all digital part, I need a digital source that will have 5.1 digital outs (decoding is out of the DIY realm --I think).
The closest I can come to finding something suitable is the meridian g61r or higher, that outputs 5.1 via SpeakerlLink.
The questions are:
1) Is there a (cheaper) alternative?
2) Can I use SpeakerLink to connect to say a MiniDigi+MiniDsp?
