Hi All,

I have a set up box with scart that I need to interface to an LG HLX55W blueray soundbar optical in.

The set up box is connected to my TV via AV cable. The soundbar is connected to my TV via HDMI. I want to make the soundbar as the primary source to control the volume when I'm watching TV through the set up box. PLease advice if this is possible.
the link is the optical in of the LG.

AFAIK, Scart (Peritel) does not carry digital audio. It carries only analog audio and video.
So you would have to get a fan out cable and find an analog to digital converter. They can be had for 30-50 Euros, I believe.

Also: Does your TV send out a variable audio signal or fixed? Some do a volume controlled out, some don't.
