Akai CD-73 CD Player - noise instead of sound
Hi guys,
Just got an Akai CD-73 in excellent external conditions but...  Watch the video: YouTube - ‪00003‬‏ Symptoms: - Loads, recognize and seeks discs with no problem - Same noise from all three outputs - optic, coaxial and line - No noise on pause Tested on many different discs. Any thoughts where and what to check? Thanks a lot! |

Try to download the service manual of CD93 or CD73 and they have the same digital section. It seems that the problem is not caused by the DAC nor the Laser Head since you can read TOC. I dont think it is a big problem. I have Cd93 and 73 for years and they serve me very well.

Sounds like it could be a faulty RAM chip... totally different player but classic symptoms
similar case here, CD player with distortion. laser?
