Hi, has anyone built an "all in one" music DS. I guess like the Linn Sekrit (Class D amp and DS) although I wouldn't want it to power any speakers like the Sekrit does, merely connecting straight out into an external DAC.
I'd use Squeezebox touch as the interface/player I guess but the box would need to contain a cd drive (for ripping) a hard disk for storing and of course the streaming components and a ps. Everything else seems to be a lot of boxes, pc, network etc. I don't want to fork out for a Sekrit as I'm no longer a Linn fan but wondered if there were alternatives all in one tidy box. (Not that the sekrit has a cd drive, although I'll look toward hi-res downloads in future anyway). Has anybody built something similar? Does something that suits my needs already exist? I'm a late arriver to all this. Thanks PS I'm familiar with the Philips Streamium etc but all they handle is mp3's. PPS Happy to built it myself.
