Default Digital or spdif output for Manavox CDB 480, 482, 262. 502, & other

Does anyone know of a Mod to add digital or spdif output to those Magnavox cdb units that have the 1543 and the saa7210. Is there a written & detailed description of a mod of that type? Does anyone have a kit or a pcb for such a mod? The Philips Swing Arm Laser system in the old Magnavox CDB units is so good & inexpensive it is ashame that they can not be used with the cheap DACs coming from the far east.

Twisted Pair Audio make a S/P DIF transceiver especially for this situation, have a look here. That's the best solution I can think of beyond making your own.

Thank you for this advice to this S/PDIF transceiver module for Wolfson DAC chips.
I am looking additional to such modules for the reverse signal pad - i. e. a S-P/DIF transmitter unit, where I can fit at its input with I2S or Sony/Burr Brown three way signal lines (so as each others) for getting a SPDIF signal (for upgrade of various vintage cd player models with DOBM/SPDIF out).

Default Analog out for tda1543 & tda1541

A friend found the following site that has information on how to connect a Tube (Valve) analog output to the tda1543 & 1541 DAC chips. Sent him an email with a couple of questions with regard to the mods and received a very prompt and informative response. Any comments about the information on the site and information about where to get the output transformer for the TDA1541 would be apprechiated.

I recently put some Burson Op Amps, Super regulator, and clock into my Philips CD492, changed out most all the coupling caps, changed a few power supply caps and diodes, and ... WOW ....

I also have a Meitner Dac6 and this little Philips now blows me away. I'm considering installing a SPdif input so that I can use this unit as a DAC as well. The opposite of what your objective is.

The Twisted Pear unit looks like it may be useful for this.

Currently the Philips CD492 is in the bedroom with a Dynaco SCA35 (heavily modified of course, new power supply, ST35 boards, boutique caps, 1% metal film, etc) and a pair of Celestion SL6si's and WOW ....

I keep saying WOW but, I'm blown away by this old cd player with 450 bucks worth of Burson and other parts installed. So why use one of

" the cheap DACs coming from the far east "

The NonOverSampling dac in the Philips/Magnavox components are more than likely better than that when used with quality components and output stage.
