Default A few beers, the iron and an old Technics cdp

Hello folks

After a few beers Last night I decided to have a quick look inside a Technics SL-PG420A that's been sat dormant for 15+ years.

The quick look revealed it had the CDM4 transport, so out came the iron and here's what happened:

Added a Schurter IEC socket.
Diodes swapped to Shottky SB160's.
PSU Res caps to Pana FC.
Removed muting Transistors.
Removed output caps.
Analogue Decoupling to MUSE KZs.
Used a Flea & 18v PSU for the 5v DAC Digital/Analogue.
Tapped off 18vin and used a 7805 'Reg booster' for the opamps.
Sanyo for DAC decoupling.
Dac caps bypassed with .1uf films.
Fitted new RCA's.
Removed the headphone circuit.
3 x Pre reg (digital lines) caps to Pana FC.

I was planning on swapping the LM4560's out for 4562's but I'd had a few by then.

How does it sound? Actually pretty damn good (no joke). Well worth a couple of hours tinkering. Just to figure out how to bypass the oversampling now.

Nice one! I like Fleas, nice low noise. I have made tons of those reg boosters. Good bang for the buck IMO.ip

Can you connect direct to the dac chip to defeat the oversampling and add some resistors and dc blocking caps?
Rob.
