Default arcam delta 170 cd transport problem

The drawer on my cd transport will not eject. The motor runs for about one second and then stops (even when under no-load conditions with the motor removed from it's cradle. If pulled out manually the drawer closes fine when the load button is pressed. Is this a simple fault to rectify (any ideas?)

May be there is a small hole on the front. U can insert a paperclip to open the drawer. In fact, as times fly, this situation often happen. What I do is put an unused disk before close the drawer.

When you press the eject button, in which direction does the motor turn (is it trying to move the tray out or in)? It sounds to me like one of the limit switches may not be working.

This advice isn't relevant to this CD player.

When trying to eject the drawer moves about 2-3mm before stopping. Have checked limit switches and they're fine. I've just been told there are two transistors for eject and two for load and that there are a couple of diodes involved also. I have found the transistors on the pcb but cannot read their type numbers (does anyone know what they are - I'll replace all four if I can find this out). Unfortunately there is no eject hole and my daughter is scratching the paintwork on the drawer by using various implements to open it, so I'd like to get it sorted asap.
