Default Tascam DR-08 Recorder Opinions Needed

Hello, I consider buying myself a Tascam DR-08 recorder Product: DR-08 | TASCAM

I need it for recording live performances of rock bands mainly of my friends, but if permitted i would use it in night clubs with live jazz or rock music.

The question is whether it will be capable of acquiring sound with good enough sound quality?
And the even more important question is whether it would be able to record good enough bass drum (kick drum) sounds well enough and in general low notes such as drums, double bass and bass guitar.

I think most of those recorders must be similar in sound quality, but I have no experience with any such device. I will mainly use it for 96khz/24 bit stereo recording, but will there be good enough initial sound quality downstream from the microphones.

What do you think and what is your experience.

Thank you in advance!

Someone who have used any such device irrespective of the brand?
I consider buying such device for several months now. In the beginning my interest was focused on Sony, but they are not sold here. This is just what is available. The brand seems OK to me. And since there is great competition on the market of these devices, maybe they all are of similar quality and parameters.

My suspicion is that the microphones are some sort of the well known Panasonic capsules or their alternative. Having that in mind it seems that there will be a 20-20 frequency response.

But due to complete lack of experience with recording in general and in particular with such devices I need a red or green light, some sort of more competent opinion.
