i'd say higher than 5
i was actually pleasantly surprised how unoffensive it sounded even with the op-amp in place.

these days i don't care much for detail, soundstage and all that hifi quirks. i suppose since my myrefc amp does them so well that i'm spoiled of those feats. besides, no chip i heard gets the detail right in a natural manner like a turntable can, so might as well not try it if you can't do it- which seems like 1543's school of thought.

I would try a DAC from Ebay. You tell me what the best currently playing? Which to buy?

Will be involved from the computer via spdif - DAC -to amp.

Is good idea LM1117 blocking GND/Uout with SMD 402 100nf/50V ?

Thanks

Did you have someone you are measuring your tuned DAC?

if you were looking for the best measuring dac and mods, buying a China Ebay dac wasnt the best start. people dont normally buy and tweak these for best measurements

...but tweaks should be supported by measurements and listening...

well dont expect miracles with the average ebay PCB. many are simply poorly executed, often misunderstood application note circuits all strung together onto a cheap 2 layer PCB.

if it were well made, most 'mods' will measure worse, since many are airwired or using massive replacement parts

but I repeat, I think you are in the wrong thread, with the wrong PCB

I do have to commend Dario though, the BOM at least sticks mostly to existing values, many upgrades consist of quadrupling any smoothing cap on the boardb and adding randomly chosen bypass caps, making every decoupling cap boutique film, using as wide bandwidth opamp as possible etc etc. all the same, wouldnt it be better to actually improve the regulators rather than just using audiophile approved parts?
