Default Sony CDX R7

Hello, new member here. I figured this would be a good place to find some information. Yesterday I bought some mobile audio equipment from a guy on craigslist. He gave me a box full of random audio gear. One of the things was a CDX R7. I didn't think much of it, until I looked up and discovered it was the first in-dash CD player Sony made. I was shocked to find out in retailed for $800 in the mid 80's. Anyway, does anyone know if these are worth anything as a collectible item?

maybe if you hang on to it long enough, a museum of audio curiosities may want it.

well he seemed to be a bit of an audiophile. He said the CD player is old, but the sound quality it produces is phenomenal. Either way, worth money or not I think it's pretty cool. I might install it my trunk.
