DIY Non-OS TDA1543 DAC

I need help form you guys out there who have done this project before. I finished my mini-DAC non-OS CS8412 and TDA1543 project. The sound is very revealing with very vivid vocals. At first, I was very impressed with the sound then I noticed that the highs rolls-off at certain frequency. I manage to get back the highs but buy putting a resonant ckt at the output. Now it's lacking the punch (bass) and the soundstage is narrow compared to normal CDP.
If anybody can suggest how to get a beeter bass and wider sounstage then this project can be called very succesful.
BTW, I used solen 2.2µF output caps and Hovland 0.1µF input caps. The I/V resistor was changed to 1.5K and Vref to 1K.
Need some inputs here.

Pedja from Serbia has a project/article on NON-OS DAC
at his page.
He also knows a lot about Digital to Analog things and Gainclones.
He is also a specialist on Marantz CD-players, tweak and mods.
Like change the clock and all that.

From Pedja's Long Article about non-oversampling:

"Merits and shortcomings of the particular filters mentioned above could be more clear looking at the simulations I made using Linear Technology’s SwitcherCAD. The name of this program is associated to one specialized for the simulations of the switching supplies, but it is (free) fully working general spice program. It offers that great opportunity to simulate circuits with wav files at the input. As wav file, naturally, doesn’t include sample and hold, observed waveforms for which FFTs are done are connect-the-dots derived. Speaking generally, this should be treated as an error. If you want to model the input better than I did, it is ok, but principally it will not change anything. (19 June 2003 update: One problem is that the original FFT graphs have wrong scaling in dB, so I deleted these values. FFT graphs without scaling on Y axis should be considered as 50dB tall.) Resistor 1k in all schematics is an I/V resistor which applies to TDA1543 and if it has some different value, the rest of the filter should be slightly remodeled.
