If anyone still has this cd player I desperately need your help. An amplifier of mine failed and sent a large amount of DC back into my shengya cd-s10 and fried a single resistor labeled R156, located between the output tube and the RCA outputs. The color bands of the blown resistor are completely unreadable.
I was wondering if anyone still owns this player (it hasn't been made in quite some time) if they could pop it open and let me know the value of R156. I did find a few pics that had been previously posted of the internals but they were far to pixelated to read the color bands with any confidence. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris |

If it's just to the RCA sockets then it sounds like either a series feed, in which case there would be a similar resistor for left and right. Valve output... so it's got to be AC coupled anyway... so probably not a series feed!
Or... it could be a ground lift resistor from audio/chassis ground to the RCA ground which is normally low in value, usually around 1 to 10 ohms and not critical. Knowing the voltage that was applied would be a clue as for example 20 or 30 volts won't burn anything over say 1 to 2 k depending on wattage. Edit... post some close up pics of the top of PCB and the print side too.
