Twisted Pear Opus DAC project

Hi all.

I am interested in building a DAC unit to take output from a computer via USB and to feed my LM3886 chip amp.

I am thinking about the Twisted Pear Opus kit, which includes their USB receiver and LCDPS, and their Ballsie Lite converter, which seems to require something like their LCBPS. The DAC wants 7.5 V, and can use the same or different power supplies. I'm not sure how much power the converter needs, but they are recommending their 30 VA 2x15v transformer.

So questions that I'm throwing out there:

Is the Opus a good way to go as far as DACs these days?
Will this set up do what I want it to do, i.e. good quality sound from my computer files direct to my chip amp?
Can I use the same transformer to power both power supplies?
Would a bigger transformer with dual 15v secondaries do better?
How to wire 2 power supplies from the same transformer if that is adviseable?
Are the Twisted Pear power supplies, at $45, the best solution?
